For its third edition, Velokonzept and interfilm Berlin are once again calling on international filmmakers to send in their short films about cycling.

In February / March 2015, all nominated films will be presented on the award website to face the appraisal of the online audience, which in turn, determines the winners of the VELOBerlin Film Award.

Berlinale Talent Campus

Berlinale Talents is the annual summit and networking platform of the Berlin International Film Festival for 300 emerging film creatives from all over the world.

The next edition of Berlinale Talents takes place Feb 7- 12, 2015.

Emerging directors, screenwriters, producers, distributors, world sales agents, actors, cinematographers, editors, production designers, sound designers, film music composers and film critics can apply for the Berlinale Talents 2015.

Apart from a summit programme of master classes and panel discussions, Berlinale Talents consists of several Studio programmes, the Talent Press and a range of Project Labs (Talent Project Market, Doc Station, Script Station and Short Film Station) in which producers and writers/directors can further develop and present their projects.

Script Pitch contestants will be notified at the end of September.
CONDITIONS
•Applicants must be over 18 to enter.
•The competition focus is on the pitch as well as the script. There is no need to send a finished script, all original ideas are welcome. The Script Pitch places particular emphasis on the combination of both a captivating script and a convincing delivery in front of the jury.
•All scripts must be for a short fiction film under 20 minutes (either live-action or animation).
•As the competition and workshops will be held entirely in English, you must be able to express yourself in English, both written and orally to take part in the programme.
•Although it is free of charge to participate in the Script Pitch, we kindly ask participants to organise and pay for their own travel and accommodation.
•Upon application you automatically confirm that you will be able to take part in the competition on the given terms and that you will organise your travel and stay in Berlin.
•Applicants are required to be in Berlin from 10 - 15 November 2014.
•interfilm Festival accreditation passes will be provided free of charge for up to 2 members of each project participating at the Script Pitch.

Car Shorts - short film contest

Direct Line and interfilm Berlin invite you to join the Car Shorts film competition with shorts relating to the topics of "cars" and "mobility". Finalists will be nominated by a jury of experts and then presented to the online community for voting.

On the website www.carshorts.com filmmakers can file their entries via link (e.g. Vimeo, Youtube) or server upload.

From comedy, action, love story, biography and musical to science fiction - practically all genres are welcome. But remember: The film's main theme must be about cars and / or mobility.

The film must not be longer than 12 minutes or older than five years. After the jury has nominated the best films for competition, the online audience can vote for their favourites.

Three prizes will be awarded:
1st Prize 3,000 €
2nd Prize 2,000 €
3rd Prize 1,000 €

Last call for submissions is the 17th of August 2014.

Online voting starts in October. Winners will be announced in November 2014.

Mauersegler Short Film Award

Send us perspectives about the Peaceful Revolution and/or the German reunification!

interfilm Berlin calls upon the public, filmmakers and historical witnesses to submit films for a new and fascinating competition.

The "Mauersegler"-Short Film Award is looking for filmmakers who can reveal their personal view of the events surrounding the Peaceful Revolution in East Germany and/or the German reunification. In particular, we are seeking the perspectives of those who were still children at the time of the fall of the Wall. We're eager to gather a wide range of films that search out and fill in the gaps of recent historical narrative with individual stories.

Prize money totalling 3000 euros

Do you belong to the so-called Third Generation East Germany, meaning that you were born in East Germany in the seventies or eighties? Or if you belong to the same generation from the West, could you give us your perspective? Did your parents or grandparents migrate to Germany? How did you experience the upheavals in Germany at that time?

Did you follow the developments in Germany from another country? Or do you want to tell of the Third Generation East Germany that your own children or grandchildren perhaps belong to? What do the events back then mean to you today? We're eager to discover your personal story and look forward to seeing your film!

A "Mauersegler" is a kind of bird, known as "swift" or "black martin" in English. The term contains the German word "Mauer", meaning "wall" and "Segler", meaning "sailor" or "glider". It is therefore an appropriate allegory for both the Wall's division of Germany as well as the country's transformation after the Peaceful Revolution of 1989. The Wall thereby becomes a symbolic point of departure to take off and glide away from, just like a bird.

All genres are permitted: animation, live-action, experimental and documentary films.

Your film may be no longer than 20 minutes.

Short film competition "Europe: Unlimited"

Topic of the Year 'Zukunftsort: EUROPA' at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, in cooperation with interfilm Berlin, the Deutsche Kinemathek, the Film and Television University 'Konrad Wolf' (HFF) Potsdam and filmArche, calls on film-makers throughout Europe to participate by submitting films for the Forum EUROPE: UNLIMITED Competition.

The short films submitted should find answers to the question: 'Is there such a thing as Europe and if so how many?' All genres are permitted: the short films can reveal points of view on Europe in narrative shorts, animations, documentaries through to experimental film. The films should be no more than three years old and no longer than ca. 15 minutes in length. Closing date for submissions is 31 July 2014.

Three prizes will be awarded:

1st Prize 2,500 €
2nd Prize 1,000 €
3rd Prize 500 €

The selected films will be presented in mid-November 2014 at the two-day Forum EUROPE: UNLIMITED, at which topics of relevance to Europe will be debated between academia and the public sphere. The highpoint of the event is the award ceremony on 14 November 2014.

On the online platform www.europe-unlimited.eu some contributions can already be viewed and discussed in advance. About EUROPE: UNLIMITED
Europe is more than an institution, an economic and currency union. Europe is a cultural and legal sphere with a definition that shifts depending on who defines it and when, and who is presenting visions of the continent's future. Europe is thus always the place where Europe is being re-designed - even in the current crises. The fact of Europe's heterogeneity is often obscured in public perceptions by a unitary narrative of 'Europe'. But is Europe a real, functioning place, or just a group of places with shared outer borders? What holds Europe together and what drives it apart - where do old solidarities end and new ones form? How can people with very different ideas of life and different cultural and social backgrounds successfully live together? And how are we experiencing the current crises: as European - anti-European - global?

The Forum EUROPE: UNLIMITED wants to encourage the discovery of new narratives for Europe and to illuminate original wishes for the future. Europe will be given complex expression in the Forum debates between scholars and film-makers discussing around 20 selected films.

The Competition is interested in individual points of view. It should not be about academic analyses: rather, the submissions should reveal authentic images of the current mood and describe large, small or just unusual aspects of the diverse forms taken by Europe. We invite film-makers to make their own contribution to fruitful dialogue at the interface between art and academia, one that shakes off conventional thinking about Europe and offers long-lasting inspiration for the future. Pitch Stop - Cinema Total

Pitch Stop, Cinema Total’s alternative pitching event, is currently accepting applications from filmmakers and producers from Central and Eastern Europe. As well as offering participants an opportunity to present their projects to an international audience of producers, distributors, film subsidy representatives and other industry professionals, Pitch Stop provides a unique forum in which the participants prepare for the event in advance through workshops and individual consultations. The workshop and consultations take place on Tuesday, 11 February and in the morning of Wednesday, 12 February, before the pitch event at 3pm on the same day.

PITCH STOP is Cinema Total’s alternative pitch event. It includes a workshop and individual
consultations, as well as a public pitch. Instead of a conventional pitch event, Cinema Total’s event
focuses on personalised guidance and professional advice offered by notable film professionals.
Last year’s consultants included: Gyula Gazdag ("lmmaker, Professor at UCLA, Director at
Sundance Filmmakers Lab), Stefan Laudyn (Director, Warsaw Film Festival), Brigitta Manthey
(Funding Advisor, Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg), Charlotte Mickie (Executive Vice
President, eOne Films International), Anthony Muir (Senior Executive International Co-
Productions, Film i Väst), Simon Perry (President Ateliers du Cinéma Européen (ACE) and Ewa
Puszczyńska (Producer/Head of Development, Opus Film).

Pitch Stop addresses directors who already have made a first feature, or an acclaimed short film, and their producers. The projects presented must be original fiction features and still at a stage in their development in which they can bene"t from advice.

Please note: only projects whose directors will be attending will be selected!

As well as offering participants an opportunity to present their projects to an international audience of producers, distributors and film subsidy representatives, PITCH STOP provides a unique forum in which the participants prepare for the event through workshops and individual consultations. The workshop and consultations will take place on Tuesday, Feb 11, and on the morning of the pitch on Wednesday, Feb 12. During the course of the workshop and consultations the projects will be presented and discussed with reference to co-production possibilities, audience, marketability, festival feasibility and further development. On Wednesday morning there will be a pitch run-through, with "nal advice provided by a coach. In the afternoon, the participants will present their projects to an invited audience of producers, distributors and
representatives of "lm subsidy organizations. We hope that participating producers will also use the opportunity of the workshop to listen in on their neighbours’ projects, opening doors toward possible future collaborations.

PITCH STOP takes place on 11-12 February 2014 from 10am to 6pm. Producers from Central and Eastern Europe may submit projects until the 2 December 2013. Producers will be informed by the 8 January 2014 whether their project has been accepted.

Zebra Poetry Film Festival 2014

Das ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival schreibt zum 7. Mal den Wettbewerb um die besten Poesiefilme aus. Eingereicht werden können Kurzfilme, die auf Gedichten basieren. For the 7th time, the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival is inviting entries for the competition to find the best poetry films. To qualify for entry, films should be short films based on poems. The total value of the prizes in the competition is € 13,000. From among the films submitted, a Programme Committee will nominate the films to be entered for the Competition and select the films for the various sections of the festival programme. The winners will be chose by an international jury.

The Festival is also inviting entries of films based on this year’s »Festival poem«, »Love in the Age of the EU« by Björn Kuhligk. The directors of the three best films will be invited to Berlin to meet the poet and have the opportunity to present and discuss their films. interfilm Forum, the first edition of the new fringe programme for industry professional attending the International Short Film Festival interfilm Berlin is now accepting entries for our international Script Pitch competition.

We're looking for captivating screenplays and pitches for short films that blow us away!

Win an award of € 1000 from 25 * MEDIA GROUP in this international competition for original scripts and convincing deliveries.

Script Pitch contestants will face our international jury Razvan Radulescu (author/ screenwriter), Sergio Barrejón (writer/ producer), Henning Kamm (producer/ DETAiLFILM) and Bettina Kasten (editorial office/ ZDF, 3sat).

In addition to the Script Pitch competition, all participants are provided with a practical and stimulating workshop programme to accompany the competition. There will be both a workshop on script development to sharpen the participants' creative skills and a seminar on pitching to evaluate the live performance of each contestant.

The entire competition will we held in English.

A Meet & Greet for competitors and the audience will be held afterwards, to maximize the interlinking of creative and industry professionals in an open forum.

As of now, all script writers and interested filmmakers are welcome to apply. Ten contestants will be selected to participate in the Script Pitch competition.
