Eksperimentaalfilmid Tartus

You are all welcome to come to the first Experimental Film Evening.

It's on the 13th January at Gen Klubi, 20:00. Hopefully this will be the first of a regular monthly look at experimental film (in future the events will be at Elektriteater). The idea is to show a mixture of classic experimental films from the early 19th century, some contemporary experimental films from international authors, and some contemporary experimental films from Estonia.

5th CYCLOP International Videopoetry Contest

The 5th CYCLOP International Videopoetry Festival will take place on November, 20th and 22th, 2015 in Ukraine (Kyiv). The festival programme features video poetry-related lectures, workshops, round tables, discussions, presentations of international contests and festivals, as well as a demonstration of the best examples of Ukrainian and world videopoetry, a competitive program, an awards ceremony and other related projects.

One of the projects is a new Contest for International Poetry films within the framework of CYCLOP festival. The list of international jury: Alastair Cook (Filmpoem Festival, Edinburgh, Scotland), Zata Banks (PoetryFilm, London, United Kingdom), Javier Robledo (VideoBardo, Buenos Aires, Argentina), John Bennet (videopoet, USA),  Alice Lyons (Videopoet, Sligo, Ireland), Sigrun Hoellrigl (Art Visuals & Poetry, Vienna, Austria), Lucy English (Liberated Words, Bristol, United Kingdom), Polina Horodyska (CYCLOP Videopoetry Festival, Kyiv, Ukraine) and Thomas Zandegiacomo (ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival, Berlin, Germany).

Rules and regulations:
Films of up to 10 minutes duration that are no more than two years old (January 2013) may be entered.
There are no limitation about subject and language restrictions. All films that are not in English must have English subtitles.
Video can be performed in any techniques using any necessary equipment (video, animation, flash etc).
By sending your film, you confirm that the film may be shown at the CYCLOP Videopoetry Festival. The artist must have all property and screening rights.
Each artist can send more than one work.
All videos must be sent with the following characteristics:
File format: .MOV or .AVI.
Standard: PAL. Codec: H264.
Resolution: HD — 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 (16:9) / SD — 640 x 480 (4:3) or 640 x 360 (16:9)
The closing date for entries is 30 September 2015.
All entrants will be informed by e-mail of the results of the call for entries from Oktober 2015 on. Please make sure that your e-mail address is correct.

The deadline for receipt of applications and the films is 15 September 2015.

There is no registration fee for films entered for the festival.

Films submitted to the festival must be completed on or after January 1, 2013.

There are no genre limitations.

Works that can be submitted to the competition are original audiovisual works (short fiction, documentary, animation and experimental films) whose running time does not exceed 30 minutes.

Films can only be submitted once. Films previously submitted to ALTER-NATIVE International Short Film Festival are not eligible.

Films which have been exhibited on the Internet will not be accepted.

Each work requires a separat entry form.

Aesthetica Short Film Festival

We are looking for filmmakers who are driving the genre of short film forward through inspirational and innovative works. Whether you are fresh out of film school or have been making films for years, we want to hear from you. The deadline for submission is 31 May 2014.

Supporting & Championing Short Film
We are accepting films in all genres: advertising, animation, artists’ film, comedy, documentary, drama, experimental, fashion, music video and thriller.

Enter this year for your chance to be screened at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2014. The finalists will be screened across the City of York as part of ASFF in November. There will be additional prizes for the winner and runner-up.

This award offers the winner and runners-up a fantastic prize package, which will bring your films to a wider audience.

In The Palace (international short film festival)

1. The 12th edition of the In The Palace International Short Film Festival will be held between June 28 and July 04, 2014.

 

2. Eligible for entry are films with duration of up to 27 minutes, completed after January 1, 2012.

 

3. The Festival accepts individual submissions, as well as institutional entries (i.e. submissions form production companies, distribution companies, film academies, national film centres, television networks, creative associations etc.)

 

4. Entry fees and deadlines for registration and submission:

till November 1, 2013 - Free entry

till February 1, 2014 - Earlybird Deadline: Standard Fee 20.00 EUR

till March 1, 2014 - Regular Deadline: Standard Fee 30.00 EUR

till April 1, 2014 - Late Deadline: Standard Fee 40.00 EUR

till April 20, 2014: Final selection announced

 

5. In The Palace ISFF will pay a screening fee of 40 Euro for each film selected to compete in the International Competition – this fee is payable in the Festival currency 'Kitra'.

The Festival WILL NOT pay screening fees for the films selected for the side programmes.

 

6. The total prize money to be distributed at the 12th In The Palace ISFF is 10,000 Euro in gold.

 

7. The Competition Programmes of the In The Palace ISFF are divided as follows:

 

1. INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

for films with Bulgarian premiere at the 12th In The Palace ISFF in one of the following categories:

Fiction films

Documentaries

Animations

Experimental films, hybrid forms and formats, digital art works

Films and audiovisual works publicly shown in Bulgaria or released online on free-access websites or platforms are NOT ELIGIBLE for the International Competition.

 

2. NATIONAL COMPETITION

for Bulgarian films, in one of the following categories:

Fiction films

Documentaries

Animations

Experimental films, hybrid forms and formats, digital art works

Eligible for entry in the National Competition are films produced in or co-produced with Bulgaria.

 

8. In The Palace ISFF will appoint a Selection Committee, as well as a professional International Jury to assess the films shown at the Festival.

 

9. The authors of all selected films will be notified by April 20, 2014.

 

10. Accreditation applications should be sent no later than May 20, 2014.

 

11. The deadline for sending screening copies of the selected films is May 20, 2014.

 

12. The films must have English dialogue OR English subtitles.

 

13. Screening copies are preferred to be delivered in High Definition digital files.

 

14. The Festival reserves the right to screen the preview copies of the selected films.

 

15. In The Palace ISFF will cover the accommodation fees of one accredited representative per film.

 

16. In The Palace ISFF reserves the right to show films that have not been selected to compete in the Competition Programmes in special non-competitive programmes during the Festival.

 

17. The copyright owners of the film agree to permit the inclusion of their film(s) in all Festival and post-festival presentational programmes; gratuitous showing of screenshots, trailers and parts of the film (online or via other media) with the purpose of presenting the film’s participation in the Festival.

 

18. The preview copies of all films submitted to the Festival are automatically included in the Festival Video Library, where they are available for non-commercial professional viewing.

 

19. The Festival Director has the right to personally resolve any questions not included in these Regulations.

 

20. By applying for participation in the In The Palace ISFF you agree to all sections of the Festival Regulations.

we are thrilled to announce the launch of the International SinCity Film Award: A competition that celebrates the imagery and ambience of Sin Cities in the 21st century.

The Roaring Twenties, "Cabaret", "The Threepenny Opera", "The Blue Angel". Walking the tightrope, decadence and vanity fair, pleasure come what may, power games and money, excessive parties. Unconditional happiness.

But what do Sin Cities and their joie de vivre look like today?

We're inviting you, filmmakers across the globe, from Abidjan to Zagreb, Berlin to Beijing, London to Lagos, New York to New Delhi, to capture the spirit of your local or favourite Sin City! Find inspiration in the zeitgeist found in the art and fashion, clubs and street-life that are currently sweeping the world's metropolises.

The idea for this international competition was born in a London music studio, when songwriter and producer Guy Chambers collaborated with the young singer SCHMIDT from Berlin. Together, they wrote the song SinCity for her debut album.

What remained was their curiosity...

How can one possibly portray the zeitgeist found in Sin Cities of the 21st century? What kind of faces, characters, images and stories define the contemporary big city life?

We want you to find the answer.

Embark on an explorative journey: take the SinCity song on an adventurous trip to your innermost fantasies and / or exceptional realities.

Send us short films or music videos. Let your creativity run wild.

A world-class panel of hit songwriters, academy award winners and nominees, film and music video directors, actors, record label and film executives will decide on the finalists and winners of the Jury Award: Rita Flügge-Timm, Florian Gallenberger, Thekla Reuten, Philipp Stölzl, Paul Verhoeven, Volker Schlöndorff, Eike Wolf, Rolf Zehetbauer and Guy Chambers himself.

The finalists will be promoted via an international social media campaign within which an online public vote will determine the winner of the Audience Award.
