Prototype short script contest

Every filmmaker knows that making movies is a labor of love. It’s art, it’s expression, it’s passion. They also know how tough it can be to break through and get noticed by Hollywood.

Short films have always been a way for filmmakers to put themselves on the map. They use shorts as a way to express their creative vision and show the world what they’re capable of. Quentin Tarantino’s My Best Friend’s Birthday, Guillermo del Toro’s Geometria, Christopher Nolan’s Doodlebug, and Neil Blomkamp’s Alive in Joburg all showed unique visions and helped launch the careers of some of the most important directors today.

But the reality is that many filmmakers never get that far. They could have the next great film idea, but lack the funding to bring their vision to life and have it seen by the people who can help take them to the next level.

That’s where PROTOTYPE comes in. The idea for this revolutionary film competition was born from a desire by creative executives at Break Media and New Regency Productions to empower the next generation of filmmakers with the funding, distribution, and access they need to succeed.

Send us your action, sci-fi or effects-driven short film scripts and tell us how you would envision them as features.

We will select eight finalists and award them $20,000 each to make their short films. The shorts will then be distributed across Break Media’s digital audience of over 70 million viewers worldwide.

One talented filmmaker will win the opportunity of a lifetime: A feature film development deal with New Regency Productions, the studio behind Fight Club, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and much more.

To enter, all you have to do is submit:
 1. Your 5-10 page action, sci-fi, or effects-driven script.
 2. A treatment for how you envision the feature film version of your short.
 3. A link to a sample of your directing work.

FrostFX meistriklass - tõetruude vedelike loomine ehk Creating Lifelike Liquids In CGI

Sellel aastal toimub Disainiöö nädala raames FrostFX ainulaadne meistriklass/loenguõhtu tõetruude vedelike loomise teemal. Antud meistriklass toimus esmakordselt sel kevadel FMX konverents-festivalil Stuttgardis Eesti anima ja efektitootjate erifookuse raames, programmi kureeris Heilika Pikkov.

Kuidas luuakse plahvatavad puuviljad, hõrgult vohavad mahlad või kutsuvalt kihisev õlu?
